</div>What the result means
For decimal prices d1 through dN, add 1/d1 through 1/dN. A sum below 1 indicates a theoretical arbitrage. This calculator divides your total across the outcomes to target equal payouts, rounds each stake to cents, then shows the net from each rounded stake. Treat the result as arithmetic, not a claim that the quoted prices or stakes are available.

Frequently asked
- How do I test for a theoretical arbitrage?
- Convert each outcome price to decimal odds, add their reciprocals and compare the sum with 1. A sum below 1 means the prices have a positive theoretical margin, assuming the outcomes are exhaustive and mutually exclusive.
- Why can a theoretical arbitrage still show no positive net?
- Stakes are entered in cents. Rounding the equal-payout allocation can erase a small theoretical margin, especially at a small total stake. The table calculates each net from the actual cent-rounded stakes.
- Does a positive result guarantee a real-world profit?
- No. The calculation uses only prices you enter. Prices can move, stakes can be limited or rejected, and settlement rules, fees or voids can differ. Check those conditions independently.
- Is this the same as hedging an existing position?
- No. This tool allocates a new total stake across every outcome in a market. The hedge calculator starts with an existing position and calculates a stake on its opposing side.
